Laminate flooring is very different from hardwood and engineered flooring in that it is technically not made of real wood. It is made up of a layer of resin-infused paper on top of a wood-chip composite. The resin layer is essentially a photograph of wood, but you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Due to its composition, laminate flooring is so durable that it is scratch-resistant and can be installed in environments that typically deal with water on the floors, like a bathroom.
